Peer Review

Participation in peer review is vital in assuring that those who conduct forensic interviews further develop and strengthen their skills. Peer Review provides an opportunity to review forensic interviews, discuss specific interview techniques, and provide feedback. Peer review is a forum to learn from others and to share your knowledge.

  • This peer review session will be open to newer forensic interviewers who completed a nationally recognized 40-hour forensic interview training between 2017 and 2021.
  • The peer review session will be limited to 15 participants who currently conduct forensic interviews.
  • The 15 selected participants will be broken into three smaller groups of 5 participants.
  • Each small peer review group will be facilitated by 2 ChildFirst faculty members.
  • Each participant will share a forensic interview during the peer review session.
  • There is no charge for the peer review session.
  • Lunch will be provided.

Interviewer’s

Responsibilities

  • Each interviewer will come prepared with one forensic interview video, that can be played on a standard laptop, approximately 1 hour in length to share for peer review.
  • Interviewer will come prepared with areas of concern/issues pertaining to the interview.
  • Interviewer will provide background information on the interview and outline some issues for which they would like the other participants to provide feedback.
  • Interviewer will have the opportunity to begin the feedback process by critiquing his/her own interview prior to others giving their thoughts.
  • Interviewer will provide constructive feedback to fellow interviewers when reviewing other interviews.
  • Interviewer will sign confidentiality agreement form and attendance policy form.
